Piasau Post - Issue 107
28th February 2007

Dear Parents,

We are pleased to present Inspector’s Report following the school’s review that took place earlier this month. The overview statement that; “ ..children at Piasau School achieve high standards in their learning and make very good progress. The school provides a very good educational environment and the quality of learning and teaching is  high...” makes very positive reading.
As professionals at the school and parents of children in the school, we can
be delighted that the education of the children is of such a high standard. Wee Yiaw-Hin has congratulated the school on its ‘great achievement’.
We are all aware of the importance of schooling for expatriate families – our future target is  to build on the very good work we already do.
The ten page offical parents’ summary you receive is taken from a fourteen page confidential document prepared soley for the school management; however, as part of the school’s  open-door policy, you are invited to have a look at the full report at any time. The report is only available in John’s office.

As part of the review process the school was also assessed on whether it could be accredited with the title of ‘Learning Focussed School’ – a quality assurance procedure instigated by Shell. The schools that are involved in this process are rated as being  Beginner, Developer or at Mastery levels.   We are delighted to inform you that Piasau school was deemed to be working at the Mastery level. We are the first school EVER to be awarded this top grade.
