Book Week
The book week got off to a tremendous start yesterday. The underlying message behind all of the activities is to encourage the children to read. We hope that you’ll be able to use book week as an excuse to read an extra story to your children – or get them retell one of the stories they’ve heard.
We are also continuing to support SMK Lutong school stock their library – if you have any books you would like to donate please drop them in the collection box outside Linda’s office.
School Dates
We have just received next year’s public holiday dates and they are included in the updated information below. As there are some dates that fall on ‘school days’ we have had to shorten the 2008 CNY school break to ensure that the children are in school for the correct length of time.
We are also very proud that the International Primary Curriculum organisation (now extended to over 270 schools world wide) has selected Piasau School as the next location for their major training conference (February 2008). Their selection is based on the great reputation the school has built. The consequences are that the school will close for training on the dates indicated on the calendar – to compensate for the closure we will now be opening the school a day earlier in January 2008 and keeping the school open a day longer at the end of the school year 2008.
The dates are always available here.
As always, if you have any thought or concerns regarding
your child’s education please do not hesitate to contact the school.
John
and all the staff.
