Dear Parents,
A few ‘happenings’ to share with you;

The New Extension Building
The reality is that we are still waiting for the final go-ahead to ‘happen’.  Until the fire brigade have made their final visit we are still unable to occupy the building. As you can imagine it is all a little frustrating as we are eager to move in. The library is now established and it really does look fantastic. Thanks to all the staff that have made such an effort above and beyond the normal call of duty.

Leavers.
As you are aware there are many children on their final departures during the next few weeks. Please let your class teacher know if your child will not be in school on the last day of term. All leavers will receive copies of their last two school reports, an official leaving certificate and various other papers for their next school.

Reports
You should receive your child’s report for the year on 27th June. This will be followed by a parents’ evening on the 1st July for you to discuss any aspect of the report.

Events
There are few residential trips taking place during the next three weeks. The P5s are presently enjoying themselves in Lambir and will be returning this afternoon.
Next week the P7s go to Mulu on the Tuesday and return on the Friday. Mr Frank and Suzanne will be also accompanying the class (Miss Julie will be with Mr Frank’s class and Miss Kath will be with Miss Suzanne’s).
The following week the P6s go to Camp Permai in Kuching. Mr Trevor and Miss Dawn will also be supporting the classes. (Miss Kath will be in Miss Dawn’s class and I will be in Mr Trevor’s). At the same time the P8s will be in Kuala Lumpur with Mr Stuart and Miss Julie.
And finally on the 3rd July – the P4s are off on their Mys?ery Tr?p – to a secret location.
These additional curriculum excursions are much enjoyed and anticipated by the children – again, thanks go to the staff for making all this possible.

This weekend the PTA have organised a Kite and Sandcastle event starting at 4.30pm by the PBC. This is one of the most spectacular events on the calendar. The timing coincides exactly with a performance our P7s will be taking part in at the International Dance for Humanity event at the Miri indoor stadium. With many of our children taking part in the Ballet Show on Saturday it is sure going to be a busy weekend.

Class Photographs
Don’t forget to arrange to collect your photographs from Typhoon Studios if you ordered class photographs for yourself.

As always, if you have any comments and concerns, the doors are always open.

John and all the staff.
