About Us

The Environment
Piasau School is composed of several interconnected colonial-style buildings located within the Piasau Camp, a stone's throw from the beach and the South China Sea. Children have the advantages of space and apparatus when playing outdoors, and a picturesque school in which to conduct their lessons. They are provided with generous resources that allow the teaching to keep apace with advances in technology and education in general. The school has a reading room, a well-stocked library, a computer suite, a music room/video room and a large air-conditioned gymnasium. There is also a swimming pool nearby which the children use for their swimming lessons.

The local environment is frequently used as a central resource for the children's learning. School trips to national parks and local industries are organised in order to support topics learnt at school.

The Pupils
Children enter Piasau School from around four years old. They can stay until the school year in which they reach the age of 12. The school caters for Shell expatriate staff and is made up of children from many nationalities. Children are encouraged to join in one of the many after-school activities organised by the teachers and parents. Attached to the school is a pre-school playgroup run by a parents' committee. Many children attend this group before moving on to the morning Nursery class.

School Hours
School starts at 8.15 am and runs through to 2.15 pm. Children in Nursery will go home at 11.45 am each day and P1 children will go home at 11.45 am on Wednesday only. The children are expected to bring a healthy mid-morning snack and a packed lunch to school.
